Autism Coaching

Live your uniqueness…

Precious Support for Autistic Individuals

We take autistic people and their needs seriously, and support them in the challenges they face at work, in their education and in their daily lives.

Our coach Beát Edelmann, himself autistic with a late diagnosis, knows first-hand the multiple challenges faced by people with autism. His coaching style is particularly well-suited for autistic people seeking to better deal with their struggles.

Dealing with the daily hassles

If you are autistic, you may face many challenges in your daily life, such as

  • Sensory nuisances
  • Misunderstandings in social relationships
  • Fatigue and exhaustion
  • Neglect of your needs by those around you
  • Feelings of inadequacy and low self-confidence
  • Difficulties with planning and organization
  • Disturbing changes around you

Overcoming the obstacles

Under these conditions, moments of failure and frustration easily follow one another. Furthermore, you are often confronted with incomprehension and rejection from people around you.

Obviously, this leaves its mark. As a result, you probably doubt your skills, and low self-esteem is the result.

Our coaching aims to help you recognize your own value, regain your self-confidence, navigate through challenges and develop motivating perspectives. In short, you'll receive invaluable support for meeting your daily challenges in a pleasant way.

What would your coaching look like?

Do you frequently feel at odds with others? Do you recognize yourself in the testimonials of people with autism? Even without a diagnosis from a psychiatrist or psychologist, you can always turn to us.

An initial contact, usually by telephone, will give you the opportunity to ask your questions and get an idea of our coaching. During our first coaching session, we'll take the time to explore your needs, and then together we'll define a concrete goal to achieve through coaching. It will be up to you to decide what is important to you in your life at that moment and in which area you would like to see some change.

In subsequent sessions, you'll acquire the means to achieve your goal. Our coaching generally takes three to five sessions, each lasting an hour to an hour and a half. Moreover, it is complementary to the interventions of other professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychologists, who are the only ones qualified to diagnose autism officially.

Your coaching will be done in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. You can rely on our coach Beát Edelmann and his coaching methods.

Our autistic coach

My name is Beát Edelmann and I didn't discover until very late, at the age of 61, that I have been autistic all my life. Before my diagnosis, I had the opportunity to discover the different facets of life: studying, living with someone, being a father, working in different professions, in companies and in the social sector. Things weren't always easy, but I was able to accumulate a wealth of experience. However, the feeling that I don't measure up and that I don't quite fit in has stayed with me all my life.

As a result, I'm familiar with the peculiarities of life as an autistic person, and with the world that isn't organized in our favor. The diagnosis has given me a new perspective on my life path, and has led me to organize my life in a way that better fits my needs. I now recognize the strengths of my particularity, without denying the hassles still present in my daily life.

Participating in various support groups enabled me to share my experiences with peers and to discover the immensity of the autism spectrum. Since my diagnosis, autism has been one of my intense interests, and I'm constantly expanding my knowledge. This insight, combined with my training and my experiences in coaching since 2016, constitutes the foundation of my professional expertise.

Today, I support autistic people who are striving for a more fulfilling and satisfying life.

Our coach's approach

Thanks to my own experience of living with autism, I can assure you that your coaching will take place in a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. I'll take into account your sometimes painful experiences, while also focusing on your strengths and potential.

My coaching of autistic people is based on two pillars:

  • understanding one's own functioning
  • and a smart self-management.

Good understanding of one's functioning

After being diagnosed, you may easily become more aware of the difficulties caused by your autism. This can be a painful stage.

On the other hand, a good understanding of yourself enables you to better identify your personal needs and find ways of satisfying them. You can then develop your own individual strategies for dealing with your challenges, and discover your strengths, which are often linked to your particular condition.

Our personality test can give you clues if you want to find out who you really are.

Smart self-management

In my coaching, I rely particularly on the self-management method ZRM® developed at the University of Zurich. It's a fantastic toolbox for regulating your emotions and managing your behavior. This approach is perfectly suited to the needs of autistic people. It will enable you to find pleasant and effective ways of dealing with your daily challenges.
